NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: American luxury brand Lafayette 148 on Thursday night celebrated three decades of New York design with an intimate dinner at Tate Britain, bringing together the launch of the brand’s fall 2026 collection, Harrods VIC clients and a private tour of “The 90s: Art and Fashion,” curated by Edward Enninful.
Founded in SoHo, Lafayette 148 has built its identity around refinement that evolves with the times. The fall 2026 collection, celebrating its 30th anniversary, looks back to those beginnings while reaffirming the brand’s enduring design philosophy: considered, modern dressing shaped by craft and ease.

Bringing the milestone celebration across the pond, the night began with a tour of the ’90s exhibition led by Lafayette 148 creative director Emily Smith, with guests including British artist Charlotte-Rose Smith, Emma-Jayne Knight, head of retail at Harrods, and stylist Yana McKillop.
The show looks back at the period when John Galliano, Hussein Chalayan and Alexander McQueen were shaking up the London runways; Manchester’s Haçienda club was a world capital of music, and Charles Saatchi was fueling the careers of Young British Artists including Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst and Sam Taylor-Johnson.

Lafayette 148 said the exhibition offered a fitting backdrop for a collection that draws on the decade’s cultural influence while expressing the brand’s own perspective.
The dinner also underscored Lafayette 148’s growing international presence. The brand launched at Harrods at the end of August last year with a space on the first floor in the women’s international designer room.
“I love that our partnership with Harrods allows us to share our New York perspective with women from all over the world. Fashion is so personal, and the opportunity for more women to discover our collections and make them their own is incredibly exciting,” said Emily Smith, creative director of Lafayette 148.
“Bringing everyone together at Tate Britain, with an exhibition that takes us back to the era when Lafayette 148 began, made the evening feel especially meaningful,” she added.
