\n\tFrench pastry house Ladur\u00e9e is partnering with Parisian artist Jacques Merle for its holiday 2026 collection.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe collaboration spans macaron gift boxes, Eugenie chocolate boxes, Christmas crackers and its advent calendar for the collection launches on Nov. 4.<\/p>\n
\n\tThis year\u2019s Ladur\u00e9e holiday designs, created by Merle, draw inspiration from Louis XIV, Jean Cocteau and Georges Braque, with nature, mythology and architecture coming together. The artist\u2019s overall artistic language focuses on joy, which is brought to life with its gift boxes featuring luminous gold suns and sparkling silver stars throughout.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\tJacques Merle<\/span><\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPierre Monetta Photography<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n \n\tBefore drawing, Merle begins by focusing on a few lines of poetry before he creates his designs \u2014 which Ladur\u00e9e noted is a similar creative process to its own \u201ccare and craftsmanship\u201d that is used to make its own confections.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI discovered Jacques\u2019 work through his murals \u2014 and, above all, his embroidery and textile installations \u2014 at Villa Noailles,\u201d Johanne Casagrande, global creative and image director at Ladur\u00e9e, told WWD. \u201cI was immediately moved by his poetic and delicate world. Jacques Merle draws on inspirations that allow him to strike a balance between pictorial tradition and a contemporary perspective. Together, we created a collection themed around the \u2018golden sun,\u2019 featuring a jewelry-like finish with details in gold leaf and embossing. One can sense the artistry in every line, brushstroke and manual touch \u2014 a true ode to the arts and to craftsmanship.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tOne notable highlight for Ladur\u00e9e\u2019s collection is its Pyramid Advent calendar, which retails for $189, and has been reimagined as a pyramid of gold and silver macarons.
